1.DEFENDERS TRAILER:

Marvel's plan to team Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist (and possibly some members of their supporting casts) in The Defenders Netflix series are well underway, and we'll see it later this year. The Defenders showrunners are Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez (Daredevil Season 2), with Drew Goddard (Daredevil Season 1, The MartianLost) returning as executive producer. The Defenders is currently filming in New York City.

We last saw Elektra in the concluding moments of Daredevil Season 2, when the volatile romance between her and Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock ended – in an inevitable spin on her classic comic book fate – with her apparent death during a clash with clandestine ninja criminal organization the Hand by returning rival Nobu Yoshioka (Peter Shinkoda). However, as we also saw, the Hand, with post-mortem interest in Elektra, dug her up and placed her body into a sacred sarcophagus to be reborn as their new leader the Black Sky. Relevantly, the new promo for The Defenders gives us a slight tease for the end result of that macabre process. Thus, while expectations for The Defenders would presumably have a resurrected Elektra pegged as an ally, we could find our heroes on the wrong side of her signature set of sais, at least, initially, anyway. Since the Hand played a major role in the last Marvel Netflix series Iron Fist, showcasing a shakeup in its leadership, it will be interesting to see how things play out in The Defenders, with Elektra as the Black Sky, along with Sigourney Weaver’s billed main villain, “Alexandra.”Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal - to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
“Every one of them is following their own trail of bread crumbs, trying to unpack a mystery in New York,” showrunner Marco Ramirez told Entertainment Weekly. “We wanted them all caught off guard. Once they’re in that room together, it’s kind of like, ‘Oh, s—, who are you?'”

The first trailer is finally here!

Paige-WWE Women's Champion

The Strange Saga Of Paige, Alberto Del Rio, And Eva Marie Continues With WWE Total Divas Snub

WWE Superstar Eva Marie hasn’t been seen in a WWE ring since she was suspended last August for violating the company’s wellness policy. WWE SuperstarPaige has been on hiatus with an injury since being drafted to RAW in July, and was also suspended while on hiatus twice, once in August and once in October, for violating the wellness policy. Both women are still featured on WWE Total Divas, the E! Network reality show was was filmed before either wrestler had an apparent falling out with the company.

But things get stranger. One of the featured storylines on Total Divas has been Paige’s relationship with former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio, who departed the company on what appear to be unfavorable terms in September. Dirt sheet rumors have long reported that WWE is unhappy with the pair dating, even before it became an on-screen storyline on Total Divas. Del Rio is vocally critical of WWE, especially after Paige was the victim of the hacking and release of multiple sex tapes and photos, as evidenced in several videos and social media messages he’s posted. Current WWE SuperstarXavier Woods, who was also featured in one of the hacked sex tapes, continues to wrestle for the company and does not appear to have been punished.
Back in February, rumors started to surface claiming Eva Marie could be done with WWE, having deleted all mention of working for the company from her social media accounts, dyed her trademark red hair black, and accepted offers to work on movies and other projects outside of WWE. Eva Marie has also, for the most part, stopped tweeting about wrestling during wrestling events, though she continues to promote Total Divas, which she still appears on.

But here’s where things get really strange.WWE continues to acknowledge the existence of Eva Marie, who seems to be done with the company and probably won’t renew her contract, in the course of their promotion for Total Divas. But though E! Network commercials do mention them, WWE has done their best to avoid mentioning Paige and Alberto Del Rio’s storyline on the show. In a recap of last week’s episode, Eva Marie’s story is mentioned, but not Paige’s, even though it was an important subplot in the episode, which focused on the WWE Draft and the concerns of the various couples as to whether they’ll be split up on different shows. Paige ends up split from Del Rio, with Del Rio drafted toSmackdown and Paige drafted to RAW, but in WWE’s recap, not only is that not mentioned, but it’s directly contradicted, with the recap claiming Lana is the only person “burnt” by the brand split:

In more overarching news, the WWE Draft has come at last, and two ladies in particular — Naomi and Renee Young — are spitting nails over the possibility that they’ll be separated from their significant others. They don’t seem to be getting a lot of sympathy from the higher-ups they plead their case to, so both women quietly ponder the ideas of working somewhere else if their lives are upended by the Draft. It all ends up working out fine, as Renee, Dean Ambrose, Naomi and Jimmy Uso all end up on SmackDown LIVE. Eva Marie even ends up getting drafted after an episode’s worth of suspense, though that gets goofy for a minute when she mistakenly thinks she’s been called to Raw instead of SmackDown LIVE. The only one who really ends up getting burnt here is Lana, who’s drafted to Raw away from all of her friends and has to try to scrounge up new relationships with Alicia Fox and Nia Jax. Crushin’ it.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars: The Last Jedi mystery already solved

A KEY mystery surrounding the title of episode eight in the Star Wars franchise has just been solved.Ever since the title The Last Jedi was announced last month, fans have been speculating as to whom it refers.

Is the last jedi Luke Skwalker (Mark Hamill), who appeared oh-so-briefly in the final scene of The Force Awakens?Or did the title refer to Daisey Ridley's character Rey, who also appeared to use the Force during episode seven?

Gizmodo reports that the question has now been answered, thanks to the release of official film promotional material in Spanish, French and German, which shows clearly that the title references the plural form of the term "Jedi" rather than the singular.

So Luke and Rey might both be considered "the last Jedi" - along with any number of other characters, of course.
Star Wars episode eight The Last Jedi opens worldwide on December 15.
Ridley and Hamill reprise their roles as Rey and Luke, while Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern are also set to join the cast.
Carrie Fisher's untimely death on December 28 had prompted fears that her character Princess Leia would not appear in the new movie, but Disney executives confirmed that the actress had completed filming prior to her death.
Princess Leia, who was revealed as being Luke's brother in Return of the Jedi, was also seen to be sensitive to the Force in The Empire Strikes Back, but was not herself a Jedi.
JJ Abrams, who directed The Force Awakens, revealed he had discussed the issue of whether Princess Leia was a Jedi with Fisher herself.

"It was a great question, and one that we talked about quite a bit," Cinemablend quoted Abrams as saying. "Why did she not take advantage of this natural Force strength that this character had?
And one of the answers was that it was simply a choice that she made, that her decision to run the Rebellion, and ultimately this Resistance, and consider herself a General, as opposed to a Jedi. It was simply a choice that she took.

Death Note Facts Death Note L Lawliet Light Yagami Misa Amane
After Light and L's fight in episode 18, many fans assumed L was using capoeira (a form of dance fighting that originated among Brazilian slaves). Series creator Tsugumi Ohba hadn't written L as a master capoeirista, but he liked the idea so much that he declared it canon.

Operating Systems

Death Note Facts Death Note Light
Light and L are depicted as opposites in just about every way. Watch episode 2 again: you'll see that Light uses a PC and L uses a Mac.

Chance Meeting

Death Note Facts Death Note Naomi Misora
In the manga and anime, L recognizes ex-FBI agent Naomi Misora from her work on the Los Angeles BB murder cases, chronicled in one of the light novels. Though L works with her remotely, only once do they ever meet in person...and Naomi never finds out that they did.

Unexpected Genius

Death Note Facts Death Note Naomi Misora Police
Why did Ohba kill off Naomi Misora so early? Initially, he wanted a cool female character to balance out the male-heavy cast, but she ended up piecing the Kira case together faster than he anticipated. That's right: she dies because she's too smart. In a cast with Light and L, that's definitely saying something.

Cutting Corners

Death Note Facts Death Note Sidoh
A highly intelligent shinigami named Daril Ghiroza was originally intended to make a prominent appearance in the second season of the anime. She was replaced by the dimwitted Sidoh because he was much easier to draw.

What's in a Name?

Death Note Facts Death Note Aiber
When creating his characters, Ohba chose names that sounded real but were unlikely to exist. This approach is particularly obvious in the Another Note light novel, which includes names like Quarter Queen, Believe Bridesmaid, and Blues-harp Babysplit.

Evolution

Death Note Facts Death Note Episode 0 Taro Kagami Ryuk
The pilot chapter of the Death Note manga was completely different from the rest of the series, involving a young boy named Taro Kagami who finds the Death Note and accidentally uses it to kill several bullies. Ryuk takes pity on Taro, giving him a "Death Eraser" to bring them back to life—wildly out of character for the shinigami we know.

Evolution, Part II

Death Note Facts Death Note Ryuk
Series illustrator Takeshi Obata originally had a much more human, much more attractive design for Ryuk. This was eventually vetoed; Ohba felt that making Ryuk too human would shift the focus away from Light. Besides, nobody can be prettier than Light.

Artistic Struggles

Death Note Facts Death Note ICPO
Obata cites the first Interpol press conference as the most difficult scene he had to draw for the manga. "Lots of people to draw, and...I had no idea what an international Interpol meeting was supposed to look like! I just couldn’t picture it."

Artistic Struggles, Part II

Death Note Facts Death Note Light
Obata had the hardest time creating Misa. He didn't understand her total loyalty and love for Light, and her variety of expressions and moods proved challenging for the artist to keep track of. Her elaborate Gothic lolita fashion sense definitely didn't make it easier.

Oh, That's How It Sounds

Death Note Facts Death Note L Lawliet
L's surname, "Lawliet", is pronounced "low light".

Playing His Game

Death Note Facts Death Note Kira
Death Note has had a handful of video game adaptations. The above picture is from Death Note: Kira Game, a strategy game which allows you to play as one of many characters to discover who is L and who is Kira. Yes, you can play as three of the Yotsuba Group, or even Light's little sister Sayu! Several characters also appear in Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars, fighting games with Shonen Jump characters.

Miraculous Coincidence?

Death Note Facts Fushigi na Techou
In 1973, Shigeru Mizuki (GeGeGe no KitarouOnward Towards Our Noble Deaths) published a one-shot called Fushigi na Techou (The Miraculous Notebook). It was about a notebook that killed whoever's name was written in it.Sound familiar? Unlike Death NoteFushigi na Techou has no Shinigami and stars a middle-aged salaryman instead of a high school senior. Also, the notebook works on dogs.

The Family That Solves Crimes Together

Death Note Facts Death Note Nate
Early in the planning of Death Note, Near and Mello were intended to be L's twin sons. That idea was shot down because neither Ohba nor Obata could imagine L having sex. They must not write fan fiction.

Baltigo One Piece – What really happened there?

The revolutionaries’ headquarters is called as everyone knows Baltigo inOne Piece. Called the “Land of White Soil”, probably due to its appearance, it is one of the islands located in the Grand Line. We also know that it was the base of the Revolutionary Army for the last ten years. Why was? Because it seems that it was recently destroyed by theBlackbeard Pirates! Or maybe not?
It is the place where Nico Robin spent the two years of the timeskip and trained along with the revolutionaries. It is the home of the whole of the revolutionary army and of course a hub of information for them. Its location was a mystery till lately for everyone outside the organisation.baltigo one piece

How come it was attacked?

If the location was unknown, how come the Blackbeards knew where to attack? Remember Jesus Burgess? The man that Sabo overwhelmed and almost killed in Dressrosa? Well, he survived and managed to stow away on the ship that Sabo and the others used to get back to Baltigo. He informed Shilliew and Laffitte about where to attack and the rest is history. But is this really how it happened?

Did the revolutionaries really lose to the Blackbeards?

We never saw anyone of the Revolutionary Army after the fight. Dragonand the whole organisation were nowhere to be found. That leads me to believe another version of the story. That version says that the Revolutionaries were long gone, when the Blackbeards appeared in Baltigo. Let me explain.

Getting ready for the Reverie

In a previous theory, we analysed how the Revolutionary Army will attack the upcoming Reverie, and cause mayhem with all the World Leaders, Marines and World Government there. Dragon had already called all of the important members of his organisation to gather, for that exact reason. That means that they were ready to leave Baltigo.jesus burgess baltigo
What do you do when you leave a place with so much important information? That’s right, you burn it all up and destroy it. So, they either did that themselves before leaving, leaving the Blackbeards empty handed. Or, they revealed the location of Baltigo on purpose. Why would they do that? Two possible reasons.

The Revos revealed the location of Baltigo

The first reason could be that they wanted the Blackbeards to destroy Baltigo in their place. Think about it. Teach comes and finds out that he went all the way to Baltigo for nothing. He becomes enraged and destroys the whole island just for the sake of it. Nothing left for the Revolutionaries to fear, thanks to the aid of our beloved Blackbeard Pirates :P.
The second reason, which is quite interesting, is the element of surprise they want to cultivate. They want to attack the upcoming Reverie and do so in a way that the World Government would never anticipate. So, they made themselves seem like they were defeated by the Blackbeards. Can they be considered dangerous now that they are “defeated”? 😉

How did they leak the information?

Well about that we have the official version. Jesus Burgess sneaked his way into the Revolutionaries’ base, called the other fleet commanders of Blackbeard, in particular Laffitte and Shilliew of the Rain and told them everything. He had reached the legendary, hidden base of the Revolutionary Army, Baltigo. From there on out it was easy. All they had to do was follow his vivre card and reach the island, which they did.ao kiji baltigo
Another possibility.
Remember our last post on former Admiral Ao Kiji, or else known as Kuzan, and his connection with Teach? There we talked about the possibility of him being an undercover member of the Revolutionary Army, working for them, while spying on Blackbeard and his crew.
We stated before that Dragon and his revolutionaires are on the move. Which means there is a high chance, that they wanted to reveal the location of their base. And what is a better way to do that than through Ao Kiji? A man who is now close to Blackbeard and seems to be affiliated with him.
Whatever the case may be, one scenario is certain in my mind. The revolutionaries can’t be defeated this early in the series. They were introduced at the beginning and there is so much hype and mystery behind them. It just doesn’t seem right that they lost so easily and were so dumb to let the location of their base revealed. After all, it has remained a mystery for ten whole years!laffitte shilliew baltigo

The Verdict

Maybe the idea of the revolutionaries revealing their base on purpose is far fetched. I get it. Although i don’t really believe they were outwitted by a dumbass like Burgess, i can certainly understand the possibility of a mistake. So, they either knew that Burgess was there and just let him do their work for them, to make it look like a mistake, or they just seized the opportunity to leave Baltigo seemingly defeated, because the timing was just right for them to make their move.

Fake news

After all, we do know that the World Government in One Piece, tends to change the news and the history probably(theory here), so why wouldn’t they do it here? They may know that only the base of Baltigo is destroyed, but seized the opportunity to inject fear in the minds of everyone opposing them.
People all over the One Piece world are starting to riot and take the power back in their hands. Remember Arabasta and now Dressrosa. The oppressed all over the world are starting to see a glimpse of hope. And that glimpse of hope is of course connected to the primary organisation that wants to take down the World Government and the World Nobles, the Revolutionary Army.
The best way to make the people fear again and lose their hopes, is by making the Revolutionary Army seem like a lost cause.
That was it for today. What do you think about the destruction ofBaltigo in One Piece? Share in the comments below, lets get the conversation going. Don’t forget to like our facebook page for updates and visit our recommendations page, for our best picks regarding One Piece!

The National Treasure of Mariejois in One Piece – The Ancient Weapon Uranus?

Mariejois One Piece

Just for a reminder, Mariejois is the capital of the World Government in the world of One Piece. Everyone who wants to enter the other part of the mariejois one pieceGrand Line, the New World, must pass through it. The Straw Hats did, as well as all the other pirates of the Worst Generation. Normally, only people who are within the jurisdiction of the law can enter, meaning theMarines and World Government agents, like the Cipher Pol.
It serves as the headquarters of the World Government and the Reverie is held there. The Gorosei meet in the huge palace of Mariejois. Of course it is the place where all the World Nobles(the descendants of the 20 royal families who founded the World Government, known also as the Tenryuubito) live(except of course the Nefertari and Donquixote families).

Doflamingo and the National Treasure

Doffy talked about the National Treasure, that is hidden in Mariejois and only the World Nobles know of, in his fight against Law in the Dressrosa arc. He specifically stated that, due to his knowledge of the treasure, he could blackmail the Gorosei themselves to do what he needed, even mobilize the CP0! He later stressed that fact that with the combination of the Ope Ope no Mi, someone could use the National Treasure to conquer the world! What do his words mean?

The ancient weapon Uranus

We do believe that the national treasure of Mariejois is the ancient weapon Uranus itself. But before we go any further, lets present some interesting facts about the ancient greek god Uranus and the planet Uranus, two possible inspirations for the ancient weapons.
Uranus the greek god
What the ancient greek god Uranus mainly strived for was to become anuranus one pieceimmortal. So, here is the first clue. Could it be that the ancient weapon Uranus drains the life force of the person who uses it? That’s why someone would have to be immortal for them to use it. This can go along quite well with our theory that the Gorosei are immortal. But how did they exactly achieve immortality?
Uranus and the Ope Ope no Mi
We learned from Doffy that one of the most important powers an Ope Ope no Mi user like Law can obtain with their devil fruit, is the ability of ageless surgery, or else dubbed Perpetual Youth Surgery. In essence, giving immortality. The cost? But of course the user’s own life. What is the connection you ask?
What if every time in the past that the Ope Ope no mi emerged, the Gorosei used the respective user to perform the operation to them and grant them immortality? The user of course died, so this must have taken them a lot of years to achieve, meaning some of them could be older than the others, but all of them are really old in normal terms.(it could also be the way Kaido became some kind of immortal creature as well, but that’s not the theme of this post).
So, the concept is as follows. Uranus is a weapon that drains the life force of its user. In order to use it to its fullest potential, someone must be immortal. That can currently be obtained, as far as we know, through the operation of the Ope Ope no Mi.

What were Doffy’s goals?

I only have two thoughts regarding Doflamingo’s motives for wanting Uranus. The first is that he may just wanted to use Law’s fruit to gain immortality and become one of the Gorosei himself. However, since he despises the World Nobles, i have another idea, which is much simpler and more straight forward. He just wanted to obtain the power to destroy the world, an aspiration of his since the people of his village crucified him along with his family. And that could only be done throught he ageless surgery of the Ope Ope no Mi and him gaining immortality.

What is the power of Uranus?

Lets explore the possible power of Uranus, through the examination of the planet Uranus. The main characteristic of it is that it is the coldest planet in our entire solar system. Could it be that the ancient weapon has a similar power of bringing Ice Age to the planet? Or in general grant the ability of the nature itself? Then it could be a weather controlling device.

Who made Uranus?

Lets end this with a theory that will be expanded in a later post reallyancient weapons one piecesoon(stay tuned ðŸ˜‰ ). If we pay attention to the cover story of Enel, three people are shown in something that seems like an ancient painting. The one has wings(Skypiean), the other fish characteristics(Fishmen) and the other looks like a normal human.
This suggest that the three races once lived harmoniously in the land. Or they may came to the Earth to inhabit it from another planet(but this is something we’ll talk about in a later theory). To ensure balance and peace, each race built and held a powerful weapon of destruction, the so called ancient weapons.
The Skypieans built Uranus(means sky in greek, i am greek btw :P), the Fishmen built the Poseidon(god of the sea) and the humans the Pluton. That connects well with the Skypieans, because a weather controlling device wouldn’t affect them, since they live above the clouds.
All was going nice and well, until the humans who later called themselves World Government(check our theory here on the Void Century and the Ancient Kingdom if you haven’t), got hold of Uranus. The power balance was lost. They drove the fishmen to the sea and the skypieans to the sky. They kept the land for themselves. The Ancient Kingdom(the ancestors of the Ds) opposed them and lost as well.

Honorable mention

Another theory i liked about the national treasure of Mariejois is that it is a tree. And more specifically the Tree of Life. That may also explain, with an alternative theory, the possibility we have discussed that the Gorosei may be immortals. (credits for this one to Andrew from the comments).
